Planning for the Future: A Transition Service Workshop Series for parents and families of students who receive special education services and are interested in learning about specific aspects of transition planning.

All Workshops are FREE and Open to the Public. All workshops take place the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School cafeteria.

November 18, 2010 from 6pm – 8pm

Financial Planning Talk with staff from Social Security and Ameriprise Financial Services to learn more about ways to support your child financially as they transition into adulthood.

December 16, 2010 from 6pm – 8pm

Post-Secondary School and Work Programs. Learn more about local community college programs and what they have to offer.

January 27, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm

Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Learn more about what DDS does and how they can support your child after the leave school.

February 17, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm

Adult Service Agencies Local adult day habilitation and vocational service providers will offer information about their programs and services.

March 24, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm

Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) Talk with MRC Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to find out what MRC can do to help your child reach their vocational goals.

April 14, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm

Housing Options. Talk with staff from different housing providers and learn what types of options are available within the community.

May 19, 2011 from 6pm – 8pm

Community Involvement. Learn about the opportunities within the Cambridge to connect your child with the community through recreational activities and volunteering.
